Resurrection Sunday

2009-04-12 21:59

April 12, 2009 (Sunday) once again the brethren and visitors came together to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sunday is one of the most awaited church gathering. But it wasn't just an ordinary Sunday, it is a special Sunday where we remember the victory of our risen Lord. Our place of worship was easily filled with brethren and visitors. Once again, everyone enthusiastically shared testimonies, greetings and smiles. The Sunday School started at 9:45 am where our Head Minister in Ottawa Local, Pastor Joie Medina, discussed the “Proofs of Christ's Resurrection” according to what was written in the Holy Scriptures. After a short break and refreshments the program continued to our Divine Worship. As the praise and worship team with the music ministry began to play, everyone was filled with joy as we were all together singing our praises to our God. The song “For All You've Done” was indeed a song that reminded us of all the things that our God has done for us. “Because He Lives” gave us the reason to serve our God more and more because we know that we are serving a living God. Songs of praises was rendered to God and praises rang out from brethren and visitors as the singers expressed their worship to God. The worship continued on and the words of God was delivered by our ever passionate Pastor Joie Medina. The message focused on the topic “The Power of Chirst's Ressurection” taken from the text in John 11: 25 and 26. As the speaker miticulously expounded on the topic, the brethren and visitors listened attentively. With the joy and the confidence we know through Christ's resurrection, we have the power to overcome the works of the enemy making us victorious. We have the power to over come our weaknesses thus making us to live a holy life. We have the power to overcome death thus we have eternal life. We have the power to overcome the world making us partakers of God's eternal kingdom. Truly, that through  faith in our Lord Jesus Christ we have the fulfillment of His words and promises. Through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ we claim our complete victory. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. Praise the Lord!
