Ottawa 8th Church Anniversary

2009-10-18 00:05

October 11, 2009 was a beautiful sunday set for Ottawa local to celebrate their 8th Church Anniversary. Brethren from Toronto and Montreal came to join the joyful celebration along with many visitors.  With gladness in their hearts, everyone was excited and expectant for what God has in stored for Ottawa Local on the day of their anniversary celebration. By God's grace, through the prayers and sacrificial fastings of the Ottawa Local leaders and members, many friends, loved ones and guests came to join the celebration including the representative of the Philippine Embassy in Canada, the Cunsol General Joey Angeles who also came to grace the occassion. Despite Consul Joey Angeles hectic schedules, he was able to give his speech and greetings to all atendees. With enthusiasm and excitement, the brethren and guests were all glad to receive his words of encouragement. Soon after Bro. Paul Medina, Bro. Rene Campos, Sis. Reshiel Campos, the Montreal brethren and the Ottawa singing group gave their songs of praises unto the Lord. The head pastor of Ottawa Local, Pastor Joie Medina, confidently delivered the message focused on the topic of the annivesary "Consecrating Our Faith for Greater Works" based on Joshua 3:5. Every listener listened attentively and was blessed spiritually by the power of the words of God. Friends and guests accepted the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The worship was highlighted with the giving of Thanks Offering as Sis Beth Gatdula sang "My Tribute"  followed by the Holy Remembrance of the body and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Communion. As we dedicated our lives to do more for the glory of the Lord, we felt that our inner being was renewed and empowered by God's words. As the Divine Worship ended, we took the liberty to capture a group picture as sovenier - a rememberance for passing another landmark in history. In total, the number of attendance reached 148. Praise the Lord!

Everyone enjoyed the agape lunch as the Ottawa brethren gladly served. The Anniversary cake was presented covered in green, blue and white - the colors of the City of Ottawa. A Gospel Concert was presented in the afternoon. Sisters from Montrel gave their interpretative dance, the Ottawa Youth also had their own interpretative dance number, a song of praise from Bro Lorenz of Guelph was offered unto the Lord and Bro Rene Campos has glorified God though his song of praise. The first hilight of the evening was a drama presentation by Ottawa Youth entitled "Set Me Free". Another song of praise was delivered by Sis Reshiel Campos, delight of the audience and  giving glory to God. The second part of the concert was the launching of the new band entitled the Livingstone Band. The band, headed by Bro. Andrew Escotois is composed by several other brethren including Bro Aries De Vera, Bro. Billy Jay Gelle, Sis. Elaine Medina and Sis. Aisa Escoto. Everyone was simply thankful to God for the music ministry of Livingstone Band. The Ottawa Local prays for God's continious blessing to their music minstry and their band. With many sacrifices, longsufferings and patience, the brethren held their hands together to make the Ottawa Church Anniversary a great success for God's glory. As the Ottawa Local added another year of faithful service to the Lord, may God continue to make the Ottawa Local grow in number and spirituality as the Church waits for the second coming of the Lord. To God be all the glory. Praise the Lord!
