Blessful Summer in Ottawa Local

Summer time has ended. We are starting to feel the cold winds again. Autumn is fast approaching. But Ottawa Local has enjoyed this summer for God has given them many opportunities to enjoy it. Not only the warm weather but most of all the opportunity to bring many souls unto the Lord. Through our personal evangelisms in parks and malls, God continually proved His mighty works in our brethren. Last July 4 and August 3, Ottawa Local held their Sports Fest at Mooney's Bay. The brethren enjoyed the warm weather, the sports and the food and most of all being with each other. Many visitors joined excitedly in Beach Volleyball Tournment of Flocks. Everyone also cheered excitedly to our runners in the Track and Field  and Marathon Events. By God's grace as the visitors enjoyed the sports and games they were also blessed by God's words that our head minister Pastor Joie Medina had delivered. The exhortation was taken from Acts 17:28. She enthusiatically explained that every opportunity comes from God. To live and move and have our being is God's grace. Therefore we must enjoy life by serving God in every moment of our life, Pastor Joie explained. By God's grace the visitors accepted the Lord as their Lord and Saviour. In that event God has moved mightily in the hearts of our friends and visitors. Now there are two that are regulary attending the worship service. We are praying that they too will be baptized soon. 

Last September 7 was the last Summer Picnic and Family Day in Ottawa Local. By God's grace some of our brethren from Toronto were able to come and join us in our Family Picnic. Sis. Lalaine Lamug has visitors with her and they promised to come to church on Sundays. The children enjoyed the warm sunny day at the beach in Petrie Island. It was a wonderful Day.

But most of all, what makes this summer more memorable was our Church Camps. We are blessed to have our Canada District Camp and also the US District Camp. Many brethren have dedicated their lives unto the Lord. In the US Camp, there were 43 brethren dedicated for VFCM and 10 young people dedicated for full time ministry. Now they are in the Maranatha Bible School US Extention. Truly that God's work is so amazing.

May the coming Autumn will also be a blessful season for Ottawa Local. Though it starts to get colder and colder everyday, yet the faith of Ottawa brethren is getting stronger everyday through God's amazing mercy and grace. To God be all the glory!
